Intuit 1099 E-File Service
david went above and beyond and helped me with my 1099 issues. He was amazing!

1st time is a charm -- good luck after that!
The 1st time you log in to access the 1099 e-file service things go pretty smoothly, but good luck trying to access your account after that. The system have you spinning circles trying to log in to access your account, only to give an error message after trying to log back in (over and over and over -- to no avail) which is super frustrating. Sadly, I could have gone to the local office supply, purchased the forms, completed them, and put in the mail faster than using what could potentially be a great service.

Very difficult to use
Unfortunately I couldn't rely on the Intuit e-filing service for my 2013 1099 filing.
The service has serious potential -- the ability to quickly and easily create and file a 1099 directly from my financials and vendor information would be a huge time-saver -- I'd pay more for it if it worked effectively.
I think the problem had to do with Intuit Sync Manager, which I struggled with for a long time.

I have to battle to access the 1099 app every time I log in. I keep getting an error message saying Access Denied. After I click on it about a dozen times, I finally get back in. I could have printed my own 1099's from my software so this was a complete waste of time combined with a lot of added aggravation. Good luck reaching technical support...at least 30 minute wait times. I would rather type mine out on a typewriter than use this program. I will NEVER use this again and I would not recommend it to any body!!

Waste of my Time
First the sync Manager never worked. So I decided to input my information manually but then realized they don't support box 16. I don't understand why they would support box 4 but not box 16.

I thought I would take the e-file option to save time. Big mistake. I have spent more time signing in and out, syncing and then had to leave before the process was done. I'll be waiting for the support line to open in the morning to help me finish. And for the price $15 to do 3 1099's, I expected better.

If you have low expectations you will like this app
I used this for the first time this year. Click and follow the instructions is pretty easy. I chose the e-file option, and I think it worked. The screen would freeze often, and I was unable to print any 1099's. This app uses the Intuit web browser inside QuickBooks. There are zero settings or controls for this web browser, it doesn't even show the URL. When I went to print the 1099's, it opened a new web browser and froze. It wouldn't load or open the page I needed to print. The help feature was worthless as usual. You have zero contol or setting over the browser so there's nothing you can do. I eventually had to give up.
The page said I would be able to come back anytime and view or print the 1099's, but when you open the app again it just takes you through the wizard from the beginning, no options to view previous 1099's.
The app also requires Intuit Sync Manager, which is one more annoying icon on the task bar that always runs....and you only actually need it once a year.

Huge Time Saver
I have been using Intuit efile app for 2 years and I totally recommend to all small businesses, accountants, and bookkeepers.
It is very user friendly -- very easy to use and it gives you that one month extra time in filing with IRS - giving a chance for the vendors to respond if their 1099 does not agree with their numbers.
When I had a little glitch with one of my clients filing ( user error) - Quickbooks Payroll Customer Service was great- they walked me through step by step - and yes it was user error (felt a little foolish- since this was my 12th client I was efiling) -- They made sure that efile information went through before ending the telephone conversation.
As always - Kudos' to Intuit -- I have been using Quickbooks since 1996 --
