Huge Time Saver
I have been using Intuit efile app for 2 years and I totally recommend to all small businesses, accountants, and bookkeepers.
It is very user friendly -- very easy to use and it gives you that one month extra time in filing with IRS - giving a chance for the vendors to respond if their 1099 does not agree with their numbers.
When I had a little glitch with one of my clients filing ( user error) - Quickbooks Payroll Customer Service was great- they walked me through step by step - and yes it was user error (felt a little foolish- since this was my 12th client I was efiling) -- They made sure that efile information went through before ending the telephone conversation.
As always - Kudos' to Intuit -- I have been using Quickbooks since 1996 --

e-filing is a nightmare
I really like Quickbooks and have used quickbooks as a Quickbooks Pro in my practice for years. The e-file process is the worst situation I have encountered with Quickbooks. It seems little user input was used. To me at any rate the 1099 wizard is less intuitive than I have historically experienced with Quickbooks. The old processes I liked better. It was easier to bounce from one reveiw item to the next.

Intuit 1099 E File Service
This feature saved me since my accountant told me I had to April to file & did not realize I was doing manually. This feature prevented me from being late.

Easy system once I got all the technical and syncing assistance
This used to be paycycle which was manual and it was at risk of human error.
Now it's an Intuit product which syncs with your Quickbooks. It was problematic as the syncing was not correct because not everything was coded correctly. It got to the point where I had to purchase for $199 the service to have a technician take over my computer to see what was not right. He solved the mystery.
Later I got to E-file and I had to do all the sync stuff all over again. Someone had to takeover my computer again (but I didn't have to pay again because the $199 was for the year).
They solved it.
The product itself is easy to use once everything is synced up.

Could be easy in some cases but not mine.
To get the information to sync & file you have to sign in and out too many times. Also, the totals should be listed before the file is submitted. Maybe on the vendor review page.

Over 220 1099s...
...and this app had a few glitches, but overall works well. Some names were reversed on the final transfer of data from QuickBooks over to the E-file service, but service reps are now alerted and working on the issue. Out of 220 1099s, there were only 6 or 7 with the issue; still worth the time and small cost to E-file, in my opinion.
Customer service was FANTASTIC with my issue. Will definitely use this again!
