Love it!
I love the online version! I can work from where ever I am. Yes, it does go down once in a while but what system doesn't.

Plagued with glitches and endless web of hidden fees
It is always glitching, you must have two browsers to accomplish tasks because inevitably one feature wont work in one browser and another feature wont work in the other browser.
The hidden fees for this, that, and the other service that seemed included, but really isnt is quite ridiculous.
Finally, while Ive had the uncommon good encounter with a knowledgeable service rep, many are poorly trained. Without exaggeration, it typically takes 4 transfers to get me to someone in the department I originally requested through the auto-prompt. even then, there is the approximate 20% chance they dont have the required knowledge of the product to solve my problem.

I don't know what any of these people are talking about. It works fine. It is a little different to use than desktop versions but not much. Isn't down very often (not sure that i'v noticed that at all) and is not slow. Frankly, its quicker than desktop versions, maybe they have slow slow internet.

QB Online should be a life saver, with access from anywhere, automated backup and simplicity of use. However, QB Online goes down periodically, cost/fees continue to rise yearly and communication via customer service/forums is very poor. Last fall QB online went through a "payroll improvement." What I found from having twenty companies online is the improvement resulted in lost data, numerous errors in YTD information and a backwards step in functionality. QuickBooks website states the online version is up 99.8%. What they do not tell you is the hardship of not having access to your accounting with almost no communication during the .2% of downtime.

Although QuickBooks is a quality accounting program, the online version cannot be relied upon to be available to run an actual business. You can quickly search the web and find many small businesses like ours that have been affected by Intuit's service disruptions. The servers go down for one, two, sometimes four days at a time without notice. During this period you are still paying for the service, but have no access to your financials or payroll systems. This product is not ready for production use.

It’s a great system for a de-centralized business like ours. However, it has had way too many down times over the past year. I need to know the service is going to be there when I want to access it. If Intuit addresses the down-time issues, I would be able to recommend this service. For now, I cannot.

If you are looking for a Cloud Financial system I would wait a little longer for QuickBooks Online. The system doesn't seem to be stable as it crashes from time to time.

Several unexplained service disruptions in the last year have caused me to lose confidence in the system. The service is dramatically slower than it was a year ago. Unfortunately this is a product that is getting worse with time.

- Do you back up my data?
- Yes. In addition to always maintaining two copies of your data, we automatically back up your updated data every day. It's stored on firewall protected, redundant servers.
- How safe is it to send my data over the Internet?
- QuickBooks Online uses the same technology used by online banks and brokerages to transmit your private data over the Internet. Our parent company, Intuit, Inc., trusts the same system to submit millions of TurboTax returns every year.
Data available is limited to participating financial service providers.
- Can I convert my existing QuickBooks desktop data?
- Yes. You can import your QuickBooks Basic, Pro or Premier Edition file into Online Plus or Online Essentials within the first 30 days of signing up. Your existing QuickBooks desktop data will convert to comparable features where applicable. When comparable features do not exist (such as customer or vendor types), the data will not be converted.
Importing data into QuickBooks can take an hour or more, depending on the amount of data.
- Does it have all the same features as other QuickBooks software? Can I add features later?
- QuickBooks Online does not have an identical set of features to other QuickBooks desktop products. We designed it specifically for businesses that need to access their books remotely and/or allow multiple people to work simultaneously. Some of its features are unique while many are the same or similar to other QuickBooks products.
Yes, you can add any features to your QuickBooks Online service at any time such as QuickBooks Online Payroll and Merchant Services (additional fees apply).
