Big time saver!
I run a tax practice which means that I am always busy working on client accounts while ignoring my own bookkeeping. The Shoeboxed/Quickbooks sync is a huge time saver. The time saved being able to offload the scanning and entering of receipts manually is invaluable. I highly recommend the app.

I work in the field during regular Monday through Friday business hours and do my bookkeeping on the weekends. As a new user, I encountered an Error 404 in exporting data from Shoeboxed into QuickBooks and was not sure how to correct it. I sent an email to Shoeboxed Support (on a Saturday afternoon) for assistance and was pleasantly surprised to receive a reply from Andrew within just a couple of minutes. He provided me with the assistance and direction I needed to work through the error. It was so advantageous to have the data exported into QuickBooks without having to enter the receipts manually. I look forward to learning more about Shoeboxed and incorporating it into my business. It has already proven to be a timesaver and is going to be a great asset to my company.

I love using Shoeboxed to capture my receipts. Their app is very easy to use and makes it easy to capture all our business expenses in one place. It's great that I can even email them receipts from my inbox so all my expense records are together.
Figuring out how to use Shoeboxed and Quickbooks Online together was a bit challenging to figure out. For instance if you have a credit card account already linked to your Quickbooks and the receipts from that same card in Shoeboxed you will end up having duplicates. I had to figure out what made the most sense for us. Personally, I like knowing I have a photo of the receipt saved, so I use the Shoeboxed entries and delete any duplicates from my linked card.
Andrew at Shoebox's customer service department was great to work with and helped answer all of my questions! Excited to hear what additional features they will come out with next!

Takes the hassle out of receipts
There are things I really love about Shoeboxed...putting receipts in an envelope and having someone else scan them. That is well worth the money. Before, I was paying someone else to scan them. So I am definitely saving money. I can make a PDF to get a copy back to me if I need it.
The Quickbooks integration does not do a whole lot yet.
It pulls my chart of accounts from QB and into Shoeboxed. That is good. But, then if I exported the receipts to QB, I would double up items because I also import from the bank. It is not the worst thing. If I need copies, I will go get them in Shoeboxed.
My one complaint is that Shoeboxed does not Roll over the documents not used from one month to another, unless you don't use any that month and they will give 1/2 credit, or something like that. So there are months where I had a huge overage ($70) and months where I did not use hardly anything. If Shoeboxed had me sign up for contract and then rolled over the minutes, then I would give them 5 stars.

Install this app, and they will call you frequently
I installed this app as a trial, hoping to find a method to help my managers in the field retain receipts. I received calls from Shoeboxed for YEARS. I don't have time to speak to someone about an app I downloaded. No one ever seemed to understand that I didn't want to chit chat about an application on my phone. For that reason, I give this app a huge thumbs down. One phone call is sufficient. Not dozens over several years. At least give us the option to opt out of the phone calls. My phone rings enough --- I don't need my app to make it ring more.

Shoeboxed is a great app for automating the data entry process in QuickBooks. Gives you the opportunity to spend your time analyzing your financial situation rather than entering transactions.

Like having a basic bookeeper
A great service and an awesome app. The amount of time saved from manually entering receipt data from dozens of receipts weekly is priceless. It also greatly reduces the tediousness (sorry quickbooks your interface leaves a lot to be desired) of putting in the basic details of every transaction (i.e. date, store, amount, basic category). The initial setup is pretty straight forward and easy and I love the fact that it remembers your preferences for future receipts. Another great feature is you link credit/ debit cards to the proper account and when they process the receipts based on the last 4 of the card it automatically sorts the receipt to the correct account. The only feature I want to see improved is allowing more split transaction functions so I can better import the appropriate costs. It currently only allows you to assign a specific vendor to one cost category but I would like to be able to import a split report so if I buy food and cleaning supplies from the same vendor I accurately account for my costs. All in all it is a great app and is well worth the moderate monthly fee. It is like having a basic bookkeeper on staff that does the simple coding for you and the great thing is it is almost set it and forget it. I stock Pile my receipts and once a week drop them in the mail and quickbooks is automatically updated and my receipts are archived if I ever need to see them again.
